Data Sovereignty Agreement

Effective October 2026. Signed with each nation when it joins.

RezSoulution recognizes the inherent sovereignty of every Native nation, including sovereignty over its data, stories, language, and images. This agreement follows the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Governance: Collective benefit, Authority to control, Responsibility, and Ethics.

1. Ownership

The nation owns all content and data it or its members place on RezSoulution. Nothing in our terms transfers ownership to us.

2. Control

The nation decides what is public, members only, or hidden. Nation staff can change these settings at any time in the nation's admin portal.

3. Cultural and sacred material

Language lessons, recordings, and cultural content are published only with approval from the nation's language or cultural department. We will never publish, license, sell, or use the nation's content to train artificial intelligence models.

4. Export

Nation admins can download everything at any time with the Export our data button. The download includes every record as JSON and spreadsheet files, plus all photos and recordings.

5. Leaving and deletion

A nation may leave at any time. When it asks, we delete its content within 30 days, including from backups as they cycle, and confirm in writing.

6. Access

Only staff who need access to support the nation can see its private data, and access is logged. Nations can request their activity log.

7. Requests from governments and courts

If any agency or court asks for a nation's data, we will notify the nation and give it the chance to respond, unless the law forbids notice. We will share only what we are legally required to.

8. Security incidents

If a security incident affects a nation's data, we will notify the nation within 72 hours of confirming it and work with the nation on next steps.

9. MMIW information

Alerts tied to a nation are handled with that nation's guidance where possible. Families can ask for an alert to be taken down at any time.

10. Sovereign immunity

Nothing in this agreement waives the nation's sovereign immunity.
