Numbers, percents, and basic algebra

The math test covers everyday number skills, basic algebra, and geometry. You get a formula sheet, and an on-screen calculator is available for most questions.

Tips

• Read the whole question before you start working.
• Write down what the question is asking for.
• Estimate first, so you can tell if your answer makes sense.
• For percents, remember that "percent" means "out of 100." 25% is 25/100, or 0.25.
• To solve for x, do the same thing to both sides of the equation until x is alone.
