Reading closely and writing clearly

This test checks how well you understand what you read and how clearly you write. It includes reading passages, grammar questions, and a short essay where you compare two arguments and explain which one is better supported.

Tips

  • Find the main idea: what is the writer mostly trying to say?
  • Look for evidence: facts, examples, and data that support a claim.
  • In the essay, choose the stronger argument and explain why using details from the passages, not your personal opinion.
  • Check grammar: complete sentences, matching subjects and verbs, and correct punctuation.
